I am still enjoying Morning Beach although there seems to be in a hiatus as far as shore birds go.  On Tuesday morning I saw only one lone Sandpiper and a half dozen Killdeer between the stairs and the end of the spit.  But, I did enjoy watching a small group (family?) of Pacific Slope Flycatchers while I was taking a rest break on a convenient driftwood log.  As they flitted about this adolescent became curious about me and bit by bit approached closer and closer trying to figure out what exactly I was up to.  It ended up about six feet away from me before discretion overcame valour and it went off to find the others back in the trees on the bank.  Dennis
