Last week we found several Cedar Waxwings near the boardwalk in Central Park.  I went back out by myself today to try to locate them again and was rewarded.  I watched what appears to be a family consisting of two adults and several juveniles foraging over the swale.  They were behaving very much like flycatchers, sitting in a snag or a living tree, then  flying out on short forays from the perch to apparently catch flying insects.  Sitting on the bench there for about an hour also gave me some up-close views of Common Yellowthroats and some Pacific Slope Flycatchers.  Then to cap it, a Turkey Vulture arrived with great flapping and rustling to perch quite near me.  Not sure if I was the subject of his interest or not.  Maybe he knows something I don’t.  Dennis
