On Saturday, December 12th, the Denman Conservancy Association will be conducting a tour of the Settlement Lands at 1 pm. The tour starts at the intersection of Central and Chickadee Roads. Andrew Fyson will lead the tour.
The Settlement Lands are owned by the DCA . We got this 157 acre property in 2006 as a result of the settlement of a lawsuit the DCA brought against an allegedly rapacious logging company for breach of contract. For full details are here:

Containing wetlands, sedge marshes, a butterfly reserve and the former Denman garbage dump, among other treasures, the Settlement Lands are much more interesting than they might look from the road. Andrew is extremely knowledgeable and the tour will be a rare opportunity to learn about this protected corner of Denman.
