The Cross-Island Trail, now under construction by the Regional District, passes along the frontage of Central Park on the North side of Denman Road.
Opposite the Old School Centre the trail was routed clear of the parking areas that are heavily used on Market and Recycling days. This meant encroaching on the Central Park property. DCA has agreed to place an easement on the Central Park property title to enable this encroachment.
In that section the new trail winds pleasantly between the large firs and cedars that line Denman Road. Until the surfacing material has properly compacted use of the trail is restricted to walking.
