The tiny new trees are planted and other Garry oak meadow species may also be growing!

The project will look at the participating Garry oak gardens.

Here’s Jenny’s:
This garden was started a few years ago and has 3 small Garry oaks and at least 8 other Garry oak meadow species. This year we’ll track these species as they grow (Phenology = “phenology (from Wikipedia) is the study of periodic plant and animal life cycle events and how these are influenced by seasonal and interannual variations in climate, as well as habitat factors”.

Here’s the little allium species, probably nodding onion Allium cernuum, we’ll see if it flowers this year.

And the lily…Camas, Brodiaea, other? We’ll see soon.

And the Field chickweed ground cover Cerastium arvense is leafing up.

While the Garry oaks & others await warmer weather.
