A dusting of snow on the top of the Beaufort Range fell on October 9. It seems early. In the north-facing gullies, the last of the heavy drifts from last winter have not yet melted. There was a light frost in our garden this morning.

In the picture the location of Tumblewater meadows can be seen in the high valley just right of centre.
